    Meet the Team

KEC is a family-focused business run by a dynamic duo- Terry and Sarah Pomeroy. Together with their seven children, they live on a six acre sustainable property in Drumquin, Northern Ireland.

    Terry

With over thirty years experience in electrical contracting, Terry’s specific skillset is directed towards renewable energy systems including solar systems, domestic wind turbines, and renewable heating.

Terry has over twenty years of experience in poultry breeding. His practical skills include mechanical engineering, carpentry, plumbing, agriculture, and horticulture.

    Sarah

Sarah began working as a National Trust as a full-time voluntary conservation ranger at the age of sixteen. After which, she undertook a course in Applied Science, then went into organic farming.

Sarah holds a PgCert in Wildlife and Conservation Management. Her expertise is in woodland management, heritage orchard restoration, and domestic/small-scale environmental sustainability.

    Twelve Years Ago…

The Pomeroy Family had a Kairos moment which led to them relocating to a rented 4-acre organic smallholding in Rossinver, Co.Leitrim, with their two sons under the age of two. Here they went through the journey of applying their skills on their own family’s frontier mission towards sustainability.

By 2019 the family had expanded to six children, and the Pomeroy’s bought a very special property in Drumquin, Co.Tyrone. The Old Rectory was built in 1762 and currently has six acres of land and gardens including a heritage walled orchard and kitchen garden, ancient woodland, wildflower meadow. It is situated along the banks of the Black Water in the beautiful Sloughan valley.

The property is sustainably managed through small scale regenerative agricultural practices, ancient woodland restoration and management, sustainable heating, and permaculture and traditional horticulture methods.
